Vermont Cardigan Sew a Long day 4

Day 4 of the Vermont sew a long.

Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3 if you missed them.

Today we are going to be adding the front and neck bindings, as well as adding our hood if you chose that option.

For the crew and v neck option.

If adding buttons or snaps. You will want to interface your binding.

Fold one of your binding piece right sides together and sew one of short ends closed. Clip the corners and turn right sides out.

Place the binding pieces right sides together with the front bodice making sure the closed end are at the top and bottom. Stitch in place.

For the crew neck. Take your binding piece, fold right sides together. Stitch the short ends together, clip the corners, and flip right side out. (interface the ends 1-2” if using buttons)

Find the center of your binding and neck opening. Pin your binding to the neck opening right sides together. Stretch to fit and stitch in place.

For the hood. Place the hood pieces right sides together and stitch together along the top and back.

Find the center back of the bodice. Pin the hood to the bodice right sides together matching the center back of the hood and the center back of the bodice. Stitch in place.

Take the hood binding pieces and place them right sides together and stitch one end together.

Fold the binding piece right sides together and stitch the short ends closes, clip and turn right sides out. (add interfacing if using buttons or snaps)

Place the biding right sides together with the hood and bodice, stretching to fit and stitch in place.

For the v neck.

Take the v neck binding pieces and place them right sides together and stitch one end together.

Fold the binding piece right sides together and stitch the short ends closes, clip and turn right sides out. (add interfacing if using buttons or snaps)

Place the biding right sides together with the bodice, stretching to fit and stitch in place.

Congratulations! You’ve finished!! Day 5 will be a catch up day so If you needed more time you can finish tomorrow. I’m going to have a finished album where you can post your finished Cardigan to be enterd into the prize drawing. I will be randomly selecting the two winners Saturday March 11th at 10am!
